Mythos Encyclopedia ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — When you sign up with email/password or Google OAuth, we collect your email address and display name.
• Usage data — Pages visited, gods and mythologies viewed, quiz scores, and favorites saved.
• Device information — Device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics.
• User-generated content — Gods and mythologies you create or submit through the Admin panel.
• Push notification token — If you grant notification permissions, we store your device token to send daily deity notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalise the app experience
• To save your favourite mythologies and sync them across sessions
• To send daily deity notifications (only if you opt in)
• To process subscription purchases via Google Play Billing
• To display your contributed gods in the Community section
• To improve app performance and fix bugs

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (a GDPR-compliant database platform hosted on AWS). Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with industry-standard encryption. We do not store raw passwords — Google OAuth and email authentication use secure token-based flows.

Local data (preferences, cached content) is stored on your device using standard browser localStorage and is never transmitted to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy)
• Google OAuth — Sign-in with Google (policies.google.com/privacy)
• Google Play Billing — Subscription payments (policies.google.com/privacy)
• Wikipedia API — Public encyclopedia data for god overviews (no personal data sent)
• Google Gemini AI — AI content enrichment in the Admin panel (Pro users only)

5. Advertising

The free tier of Mythos Encyclopedia displays placeholder advertisement banners. We do not currently use any advertising SDK or serve real ads. We do not share your data with advertisers. Plus and Pro subscribers see no ads.

6. Children's Privacy

Mythos Encyclopedia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and data
• Portability — Request your data in a portable format
• Objection — Object to certain types of processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. You can also delete your account directly within the app via Settings → Clear All App Data.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Cookies

Our mobile app does not use cookies. Our web version may use essential session cookies for authentication only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
